Mum told me whilst at the studio that she had a dream one night. That her sister and her were both having babies at the same time. Sure enough, they did, and I photographed this little guys cousin only a few weeks ago! And Mum, I think your nickname for him is perfect, he really is a little cherub!

Well, this lil guy was an ANGEL! Barely heard a peep out of him! I could have photographed him all day, in fact on numerous occasions I think I mentioned that he could stay forever, but as Mum said, she’ll keep him cause he’s a superstar. Yes he was. A total superstar!
And have to say a big thanks to Mum & Dad for the chocolates! (I think they were gone about two hours after you left!)

This gorgeous little baby was 12 days old on the day of our session. She was so sleepy and quite happy to stay that way. Loved cuddles and being warm (and it was a warm day too!)

This gorgeous boy kept his parents waiting a little while! They had planned to have Christmas Day in hospital, but then found themselves still waiting for their little baby! So, on a rather WARM day, I finally met Mr M! He is such a sweetheart!

This little girl was just adorable! And to make the day even better, it was nice enough to head outdoors, something I LOVE to do during the warmer months!
Was nice to have fellow photographer Ev along for the session (ok he knew Mum…) Always amusing when a photographer of a different genre gets a taste at something different. Although I think Ev will be sticking to land/seascapes rather than newborn babies! Was nice to sort of blend the two of our specialities for this session.

Yesterday, Janet of Hyggelig Photography invited me along to help out with a newborn twins session. Had a blast, and couldn’t resist posting a teaser to the session!

I was a wee bit nervous with this session. I photographed Miss E’s big sister not 18 months ago (Big sis is a whole 3 days older than my youngest!!) when she was 4 weeks old, and Mum was keen to have photography done at the same age. My nerves? Cause having bub’s in their birthday suit + asleep + posing, at this age is NOT easy!! But I think we did extremely well, did we not!?

This little girl is by far the TINIEST newborn I’ve ever photographed. And yes I’ve photographed twins & also tiny premmies. At only 5 pounds 2 at the time of our session, she was just adorable. She was almost lost in my beanbag!

This gorgeous girl was an absolute delight to photograph, barely heard a PEEP out of her the entire time she was at the studio! Which is a little more rare for newborn girls! They usually have a little more “attitude” by nature than the boys… well in theory anyway!! She happily slept, fed, and then slept! In fact when our session was over, she was still sleepy!

Mr B was VERY alert for 7 days!! Adorable, but ALERT. Took a while for him to nod off, and when he did he was still letting me know what kind of photographs he wanted.. Simple, not too over the top. No props!
Have to say it was nice to go back to basics and photograph a baby - simply. All about THEM. Although the weather wanted to make it all about IT. We had overcast, blaring sun, rain and darkness all in 2 1/2 hours!

This little girl was such a fighter!! Sleep, no thanks, I want to party the afternoon away!! But, even two week olds give in eventually. Well almost. This little girl certainly made me work hard, but oh she was just way too cute, and when you see Mum & Dad, you’ll see why
And her name is just fantastic, and very fitting, it means “beautiful” in Arabic? (correct me if I’m wrong Mum!)

Ready for a big post!?
A few weeks ago (yes yes yes I’m behind on blogging… but I am catching up!) I had the pleasure of attending a seminar by Kelley Ryden, a US based photographer who is a fantastic baby photographer. It was an amazing workshop to be a part of and attended by photographers around the country! Two of whom have recently had babies themselves and willingly let us photograph their babies as well!
Thanks Kelley for a wonderful weekend! And now onto the images that I took (well some of the THOUSANDS!!)
