The Day after “D” Day – Melbourne Maternity Photography

For someone who was “due” the day before this photo shoot, P, you look amazing!  Little one has now arrived, and I can’t wait to meet him!

Fun in the sunshine – Melbourne Family Photography

Mr. W is nearly 3, and was in my little Ash’s Daycare class until last year…  Mum asked me along to take some special portraits for their family as Grandma & Great-Grandma were coming for a visit from New Zealand!  We had so much fun on the tractors, feeding the geese, turkey and chickens and just running around.  Mr. W got stuck into some chocolate cake while we enjoyed a coffee and the sunshine.  I have such a tough job;)

Hope you enjoy the preview everyone, the gallery will be ready very very soon! x

How gorgeous is this couple!?  Daddy-to-be told me at the session that he couldn’t sleep a few days before our shoot as he kept thinking up ideas for the session.  It was fantastic!  While I can’t wait to hear what ideas you have for your newborn session, make sure you get some sleep!

Mr R, 9 weeks – Melbourne Baby Photographer

This little guy has such a soulful expression.  Almost like he is full of wisdom & yet wonder all at once!

Was lovely to meet you Mum & Dad, I hope you enjoy the preview! Your full gallery is coming shortly!

Mr A, 14 days new – Melbourne Newborn Photographer

I photographed Mr A’s big sister for her newborn photography when she was only 10 days old (which you can see HERE), and here he is at 14.  This little guy had Mum & I in stitches towards the end of our session, this one has some very amusing facial expressions!!  But made it all worthwhile when that gorgeous smile lit up the room!

Congratulations on #2 Mum & Dad, your gallery is not too far away!

Mr O, 2 1/2 weeks – Melbourne Baby Photography

This little guy had me on my toes!  He was very interested in what was going on around him, and not so keen on ‘missing out’ by sleeping.  But with a little patience he was off to sleep and very content!

I love personalising images for my clients, and Mum & Dad had a fantastic prop and idea, which this little man was quite happy to do!

I hope you enjoy the preview Mum & Dad!

Mr L, 12 Days – Melbourne Baby Photography

When I was young, I had many injuries.  From Dance to Athletics, I did my knees, my ankles, my shins.  Well, the night before this little guys session, I tripped.  Now when I do something, I do it RIGHT.  (Well this is what I LIKE to do! -Just not when I trip)  I braced myself, and yes, ouch.  As with most times we stub our toe we wait for that pain to die off after about 15 seconds.  Well this time, it didn’t.  OH NO!

Mr L’s parents got a slightly early morning phone call before they left for the car ride, asking if we could perhaps make it the next day, as I think I’ve broken something.

Sure enough.  I had.  My big toe.  But just because I do things RIGHT.  It was in the joint.  This then meant that I needed a second opinion to see if I needed surgery.  Yep, on a toe.

I narrowly escaped the surgery (well for now, I see a surgeon next week) but found myself in a half cast, and on crutches.  Feeling mighty sorry for myself.

SO!  With the wonderful help of Miss Bec (our part time assistant) we photographed Mr L the day after.  Now you are not allowed to scroll this post quickly without admiring these eyelashes.  They were the longest a cutest lashes I have ever seen.  Mum seemed quite convinced that he was not going to like the session, as he had shown some great distaste for being undressed.  I love a mission!

(Mum & Dad, I’m listening – totally by chance! – to the Kings now!  I hope you enjoy your preview, and thanks for your patience!)

Nat – THE STAR!

We all have friends we are proud of, but I have a friend who I think tops it all off, Natalie. I’ve known Nat’s family all my life.
20100321NatM-420100321NatM-8
Nat is 21 and Nat participated in the World’s Greatest Shave. She didn’t just die her hair. She went for the big one. Oh yes, she did!
So, a little of the background – in Nat’s own words…
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MY HERO:
It all started last May when Dad wanted to get back into running so he decided to go to the GP for a check-up as he had a few niggles. Apart from a sore foot, he wanted to check on his tiredness and shortness of breath. Routine blood tests were prescribed and the next thing we know he is referred to a haematologist. More blood tests, followed by a bone marrow biopsy, and he has gone from being anaemic to having AML.When he asked why(?)/how(?), he was told it was a “random accident”.

The only treatment available was aggressive Chemotherapy. He was told he would need 4-6 months of treatment – a month in hospital followed by a couple of weeks at home to recuperate, then this process is repeated a minimum of two more times. The month in hospital consists of a week of aggressive chemo which is designed to wipe out his good cells as well as the bad; two weeks of intense monitoring when his immune system reaches non-existent and therefore he is prone to infection, followed by a week waiting for his levels to rise to an acceptable stage so he is allowed to go home.

He was first admitted into Peter MacCallum on Thursday, November 12. He is currently on his third (and hopefully final) session in hospital. The great news is he has been told he is in remission and the current treatment is classified as “consolidation”.

Of course the main objective of the shave is to raise funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.

If you would like to show your support for both me and my amazing dad, donations will be gratefully accepted.

Nat’s event, was an emotionally filled event.  We stood around the pool..

…shared a drink, laugh and a “snag” from the BBQ… Then came the time. Firstly, a family friend (who is a hairdresser) set up to prep her hair, to be sold (to raise money as well) and then came the time. Russell, took up the electric razor. It was Nat’s mission for Russell to be the one to do it, and with tears and smiles (and a few beers!) Nat became a hero!

She has already raised an AMAZING amount, however with the event still collecting, I’d love give the opportunity to all my amazing blog readers to donate to this amazing cause as well. I have set up the following division of Paypal to accept donations on Nat’s behalf.  Any amount goes to an amazing cause!
And now, some gorgeous portraits of a stunning girl…

So, just in case you missed the button before here it is:)
Nat – you are a total star, and you look GORGEOUS xxxx
