thePROJECT – December 19th

Finally, someone was still!

9 times out of 10, I get compliments on how gorgeous my “daughter” is.  For some reason it’s really easy to look at his hair and assume that “he’s” a girl.  The clothes and boyish shoes don’t give it away…  So some people wonder why I don’t cut his hair so he’s more “boylike”.  Well.  Would you cut off these gorgeous curls!?  Because I sure can’t!

thePROJECT – December 18th

When Ash was born, I did a small project of photographing him on an ‘Ashton’ guitar amp every month for the first year.  I then planned to continue this every year on his birthday.  Unfortunately, the day I did his 2nd birthday images, my old personal use only memory card corrupted.  I lost everything from his first birthday.  The amp was also being borrowed by someone so on the 18th December, I finally got a chance to do his 2-year-old image.  Well we weren’t overly keen on being up there.  So to help the process, we got a balloon that we had for a BBQ birthday we were holding that evening.  It worked.  This was an image that I took for THIS project, as it just shows perfectly the wonder children have with balloons. . .

thePROJECT – December 17th

Busy week.  Friday saw the daycare family Christmas party!  Found this little chair where both the boys sat down and I asked Eman to give Ash a kiss.  Ash also kissed the camera!

Mr N, 2 weeks new – Melbourne Newborn Photographer

I first met this family when Mr Z came to the studio for his newborn photography, (his newborn photos are available here!) and now he’s a big brother!  And a very proud one too!

Mr N is such a content baby, in fact it seems he likes it better with lots of noise around!  Such gorgeous hair and how could resist those gorgeous lips?

It was wonderful to see you all again, I cannot believe how much Z has grown!  I hope you enjoy the preview Mum & Dad, your gallery is very very close!

The Spring Sessions PT I – Melbourne Family Photography

Last weekend, my beloved Mother Nature didn’t really care that I had plans.  I had some of my favourite clients, and some lovely new clients visiting for our first ever mini-session event.  Our Spring edition.   She though it would be funny to be COLD, and WET.  And when the sun did shine it was WINDY!

“Mini-Sessions” is an event we are hoping to run every year, each season.  Perfect for children who are growing so fast, and with the blink of an eye they will celebrating their 18th birthdays! (Getting ahead of myself there)

Never-the-less, as soon as the rain eased, we would dash outside for a little while (what was more confusing was it raining while the sun was out!)

Part II coming soon!
(To all families, thank-you for coming & having fun! It was wonderful to meet you / see you all again, I cannot believe how much the children have grown!)

Mr M, 8 months – Melbourne Baby Photographer

Ready for a large post!?  I could have put every simple image of this session in a post, however I have to keep some secrets just for his parents!  I met Mr. M for his Christening Photography, and here he is again, for a formal portrait session.  We ventured out, firstly to an unlikely photography location, to the beloved canola field and then in the studio.  This little guy is just adorable, cheeky one minute, soulful the next, then grinning from ear to ear.    Little man, your mother is right, you are just “so damn cute!”

To celebrate, we have a competition running on our Facebook Page!  By tagging yourself in the image (click HERE) you go into the running to receive $200 credit towards your mini-session!

FAQ:

So what are mini-sessions?

Mini-sessions are a shorter photography sitting, of which 15-20 images will be availble in your private gallery to choose from.  These sessions are designed for new clients, wishing to try out custom art photography, or previous clients, who would love updated photos of their baby, children & family.

How much are the sessions?

$75, which is half our normal studio sitting/creation fee.   Payment is required to secure your booking.  Bookings are non-refunable, however may be transferred*

What’s included?

Approx 45 minute sitting (depending on weather, we may even venture outdoors for some images!), from this 15-20 images will be available in your private online gallery.  A matted 5×7″ print is also included.

Why can’t Newborn or Maternity sessions be included?

Due to the dedication we place on the process of newborn & maternity sessions, they cannot be performed in the allocated time.  However, if you have a newborn baby, or are pregnant and would like a fun family session with siblings etc, then the mini-session would be a great add-on to a tradition maternity/newborn booking.

How many people can be included into the session?

Traditionally, a family of 4 or 5.  If you have a larger family or would like to include Grandparents, we suggest you book a double session on the day, due to the time allocated for the sessions.

If I win the Facebook competition, what do I get?

If you have booked one of the mini-sessions, you will receive $200 towards your order.  This prize cannot be carried to other sessions at another time.  The prize is only available for booked sessions on the weekend of our mini-studio sessions.

thePROJECT – Jan 1st

In an attempt to “sort out” our house, we have created a “toy room” hoping that organised chaos helps.  One thing I wanted was a small coloured “garbage bin” to put cars, or blocks in.  Well we got it, and it seems the only thing we put in it, is Eman.  I’m going to rephrase that.  I wanted a cool image to start of January, and opened up a can of worms.  Now the only thing that goes in the bin, is Eman, cause that is an awesome game.

Miss C, 1 year & Mr E, 3 years – Melbourne Child Photographer

I think one of the best things about my job is watching all my gorgeous little clients growing up.  It’s a huge honour being invited back to document the growth and joy in children’s lives!  Sessions change every time as babies get older, and the older sibblings start to remember you, and if your really lucky like I am, big brother of 3 years old even gives you flowers!

This is the 4th time I’ve photographed this family in 2 1/2 years, and I certainly hope many more times to come!

Hope you enjoy the preview Mum & Dad (and Grandma & Grandpa!)

Miss G, 4 weeks – Melbourne Baby Photography

I met this gorgeous girl last week, but have been a wee bit behind in blogging!  I mentioned this family previously in my post about my kitty cat Selkie -  how mum & I had been talking about photographing new babies with their older siblings.  Sometimes the most obedient of pets turn camera shy!  Well big brother Boston wasn’t overly keen of the big black thing in front of this crazy photographer lady’s face, however he was a trooper for us and his lovely portrait is at the bottom of the post.

Miss G (lets get back to the star of the shoot) was a fantastic little model for me, at 4 weeks it can be difficult to coax babies off to sleep, however she managed to drift off twice during our session to get some beautiful sleeping shots, as well as capture her personality.

Sorry for the delay, however I hope you enjoy the preview Mum & Dad!

Mr A, 13 months – Baby Photography Melbourne

For our fourth session this year, Mr. A certainly made me work hard!  He’s been on the move for a while now and boy oh boy is he quick!  He’s also very good at showing off a range of expressions!!

Thankfully he enjoyed being in boxes and baskets or I’m not sure I would have been able to get many images!  He was much more keen to explore than have his photo taken!!

Lovely to see you again, and I hope you enjoy your preview Mum & Dad! (Told you I got a smile Mum;))

Miss F – 19 months – Melbourne Child Photography

This gorgeous girl certainly kept us on our toes!  This is the second time I’ve photographed Miss F, firstly when she was just 3 months old.  Not much of a preview as Mum has seen the whole gallery!  Sorry for the delay, but I hope you enjoy anyway!

37 Weeks – Melbourne Maternity Photography

I’ve known this family for nearly 3 years now, having photographed Miss ‘soon to be big sister’ when she was just 8 weeks old.  Then Mum & Dad’s wedding almost 2 years ago.  Number 2 is on the way, and I cannot wait to photograph the bun in a few weeks!

I’ve kept Mum waiting on this preview.. and after some very sad news this week, I hope these put a smile on your face.   Take care xxx

(This last photo is very sentimental to Mum – her grandmother made this jacket secretly just before she died, and then it was presented to Mum when Miss A was born.  We HAD to photograph it!)   Hope you enjoy the preview Mum xxx

ETA:  Had to add this last image of Miss A – she is just too cute!

Mr. M – 16 days old – Melbourne Newborn Photography

Ok this little guy was a total dream.  I could have seriously photographed him all week!  (and I think Mum & Dad were starting to think they were never going to be able to leave!)  Just as we thought he was waking up, he’d open his eyes for a second or two and off to sleep he would go… again!

And how super gorgeous is he!?

Hope you enjoy your preview Mum & Dad!
