Miss E – Melbourne Child Photographer

I photographed Miss E back when she was a toddler, and boy she’s growing up to be so beautiful!  We ran around the fairy tree (or 4) and tried to feed the ducks (although I think they’d been fed a few times already!)  and even found some pinecones.

Great to see you again, I hope you enjoy the preview, many more to come in your gallery!

Mr S & family – Melbourne Baby Photographer

I think one of the most amazing things about photographing a family with young children, is watching how different their personalities are.  These three lil guys were so much fun.  So different.  I think you can see even in this preview, just how different they are!  While we were “concentrating” on Mr S, we also got some fantastic family images (and wow, no blinking eyes!!!  all smiles!!!) and had fun playing outdoors, making sure there were no crocodiles!

I hope you enjoy the preview Mum & Dad, and the boys enjoyed their lolly-pops!

Mr C & Miss Z – Baby Photography Melbourne

What I love about my job, is that no two photography sessions are the same.  Because no two babies are the same.  Even when they shared the womb for 9 months.  They are so individual, even at such a young age.  These gorgeous babies were no different to that rule!  From only a few minutes into our time together, regardless that they weren’t identical, and of different sex, they already have such different personalities!  Mr Man here, was extrememly curious of his surroundings, and very cheeky!  Constantly looking around him, the camera was not of much interest to either of them, however the studio was ‘way cool’ to absorb.  Miss Lady, had one of the biggest smiles I’ve ever seen, but only for Mum & Dad, and boy does she love hearing mum sing!!

But one thing that was for sure, we captured so many different expressions and elements of their personalities, which above all else, is what we strive for in sessions.  A small part of a day in their short lives, and captured them, just as they are.

I hope you enjoy the preview Mum & Dad, so many more images to come!   And a big thank-you to the lovely Chrissy Torney for helping out during the session!

Mine – Melbourne Child Photographer

Believe it or not, I’m not brilliant at taking photos of my children.  Simply, they don’t like my camera.  Also has a lot to do with the age old excuse, a ‘builder’s house is never finished’ or a ‘plumbers tap will always drip’, and ‘a mechanics car always breaks down’.  Sure I’ve taken heaps of images of the kids, however where they are?  I have no idea.  My own images never go into the same process as my client’s work.  they are scattered amungst endless external hard-drives and DVD back-up for “when I have time”.

I have two images up on the walls.  One wasn’t taken by me, but my friend & assistant Bec.  And she had it printed and also hung it up.  The other is a canvas of Ash, when he was 5 days old.  Which many of my clients have seen on the wall.  But it’s part of the studio, not our “home”.

This is something that will be changed shortly, as I’m currently preparing albums, and finally, a canvas wall gallery.  And yes I’ll be posting images once it’s done.

Last week a fellow child photographer, Chrissy Torney, and I did a last minute dash to take some photos to test out a temporary location.  I decided to try and get photos of the boys to give to Daddy for his birthday.  While the photos of Daddy with the boys didn’t QUITE go to plan, it shows them, their personality, and is very them!

Happy Birthday G!

I’ll be posting some more images very soon of this awesome location!

Miss P, 12 months – Melbourne Baby Photography

I have photographed this little Miss 4 times now since she was born, and I have to say, we are not the biggest fan of the camera!!  We are all smiles, then out comes the camera, it’s all over.  And thankfully mum has assured me, that it’s not just my big black thing, it’s any camera!

But we did win, and got some lovely photos!

Happy first birthday Miss P!

A day in the Garden – Melbourne Family Photography

Today I was preparing an Album for a client, and realised that in the craziness that was the end of last year, this session never graced the blog!  Well I’m fixing that situation right now!

This GORGEOUS family’s session was postponed a few times, due to little ones being unwell, then Mother Nature deciding it wasn’t the right time, but I think the wait was worth it as the weather on the day was just amazing!

Enjoy!

Miss C, 1 year & Mr E, 3 years – Melbourne Child Photographer

I think one of the best things about my job is watching all my gorgeous little clients growing up.  It’s a huge honour being invited back to document the growth and joy in children’s lives!  Sessions change every time as babies get older, and the older sibblings start to remember you, and if your really lucky like I am, big brother of 3 years old even gives you flowers!

This is the 4th time I’ve photographed this family in 2 1/2 years, and I certainly hope many more times to come!

Hope you enjoy the preview Mum & Dad (and Grandma & Grandpa!)

Mr. M – 16 days old – Melbourne Newborn Photography

Ok this little guy was a total dream.  I could have seriously photographed him all week!  (and I think Mum & Dad were starting to think they were never going to be able to leave!)  Just as we thought he was waking up, he’d open his eyes for a second or two and off to sleep he would go… again!

And how super gorgeous is he!?

Hope you enjoy your preview Mum & Dad!

Baby in a box & basket – Melbourne Baby Photography

A good thing about being unwell, I’m at home more, and able to get some training in…. Must keep baby happy in front of camera…. Must not let him be like his old brother and run away from the camera screaming…

Even if I do ruin nice photos with forgetting to clean his running nose…. oops!

MIA, website/Email drama & my boys

People always insist I must have the most beautiful images of my boys.  Well yes, when they let me actually take their photos!!  I have to admit, my youngest has been a brilliant model.  But now we are on the move, we generally have to rely on a basket of some description to keep him in the one spot!  Me eldest on the other hand has ALWAYS hated the camera.  ALWAYS.

So of course, when they actually let me take their photo, TOGETHER it’s always a quick dash for the best light, the camera (always with a dying battery) and before the “mood” changes.

And of course, they are always in their worst possible outfits, with lunch or a snack all over their faces, and at 5pm in winter, when there is NO LIGHT.

But who’s complaining when you get these:

On a different note, I have been what may seem a little missing in action lately.  I have been unwell for what seems like a month, with what was originally diagnosed as the flu, but has turned out to be a lymph node infection.  All is well and I’m on the mend, and not contagious!  Been difficult with two unwell boys with a cold each (which has also seemed to take weeks to finally disappear!)

One another fun note, it seems there has been some issues with my website/blog and email.  Seems the site is working at the moment, however at the moment, I am unable to receive my emails.  They will be downloaded once the issue with the server is fixed, however there may be a slight delay with my replies.  Apologies in advance!

Miss R, 22 months – Melbourne Child Photography

Boy Miss R was fun to photography!  She definitely kept me on my toes and was a ball of cheeky energy!

I first photographed her big sister at this age, and then Miss R at 12 days old, well she had certainly grown in between visits!  I struggled to put this preview together as I loved so many images!

Thanks for your patience Mum & Dad, I hope you enjoy your preview!!

Miss R, 10 days – Melbourne Newborn Photography

Miss R surprised her parents, as they were quite certain that she was a boy! Having a bit of a drive from just outside Melbourne, Miss R was quite keen to stay awake and look at her surroundings, and not too keen to have a sleep, however after a while, she drifted off to get some beautiful images of her and with her VERY proud parents!

I hope you enjoy the preview Mum & Dad!

Miss E, 6 months – Melbourne Baby Photographer

Walking into my clients house for this session was an absolute treat!  Not only did I get to see Miss E’s older brother, who I photographed at the same age about 2 years ago, but the furniture!  I’m a tad partial to vintage style fabrics and furnishings.. as you can see in the accompanying images!  Miss E was a joy to photograph, put on a show of various facial expressions and poses for me!

I hope you enjoy the preview Mum & Dad!

Mr. Q, 10 days – Melbourne Newborn Photographer

This little guy was the sweetest little newborn subject!  After his mid morning meal, he quickly drifted off into a deep sleep and didn’t really wake properly when our session was done!  Not only was he a dream to photograph, I think my blankets came home without a single soiling!  Now THAT is unusual!!  (haha)

I hope you enjoy the preview Mum & Dad!

Mr A, 6 months – Melbourne Baby Photography

It seems I still turn up to my clients houses, for the second session, thinking baby will still be 3 weeks old.  Knowing full well, they are now 6 months.  Well so was the case with Mr. A.  Well hadn’t he grown!  Also seems that Mum & I organise sessions on not-so-nice weather days!  Mr A, showed a lot of personality, lots of baby moods, and definitely only has eyes for his parents!  And has the most striking facial expressions I have ever seen on a baby!

I hope you enjoy the preview Mum & Dad!
