Woodend Wedding Photography | Kate & Tom

I have wanting to share this post since before I’d even photographed this weeding!  I have known Kate since before she was born, and growing up she used to call me her “big sis”.  I remember watching ‘The Neverending Story’ as children hugging pillows for when the wolf scared us.  We did ballet together, (and I was very jealous, although proud, when she was one of the leads in ‘The Princess who wanted to play with the Stars”) and I even kept my barbie’s so she could play with them even though I had well and truly gotten over them.

Then Kate met Tom.  And Tom proposed.  Kate is a Doctor of Animal Science and has a small “farm” on her parents property.  Having organised a romantic dinner for the big question, it was changed when Kate’s horse wouldn’t get in the float and basically Kate cracked it.  So plan B was put in motion, he lit a fire and got some red wine and proposed with all Kate’s animals at witnesses.  And then they asked me to photograph their wedding!  Because of this emotional connection with the Bride, I asked the amazing Katie Kolenberg of Heartstory Photography in Canberra if she would help me on the day.  (In honesty, I was a little worried I would cry my way through the ceremony!)  Not only Katie, but I had Simon Pollock on my team as well who photographed Tom’s preparations back in Melbourne, whilst Katie and I started the day in Woodend.  (I learnt a lot about my dear friend Katie that day – Photographers, if your working with Katie I would suggest you don’t put her in a paddock with sheep.  She is slightly afraid of them..)

Kate and Tom’s day was just beautiful, from start to finish it was a photographers DREAM.  The amazing setting of her parents property in Woodend for Kate’s preparations, the beautiful Church, the horse drawn carriage back to the property for afternoon tea, concluding with the amazing elegant reception at the RACV Club back in Melbourne.  Kate & Tom stole the show of course the whole day, but their bridal dance was truly something to remember!

Congratulations Kate & Tom, and thanks for allowing me to be part of your amazing day xx

in a little town called Timbarra… Destination Wedding Photography

EKKK I’m behind on blogging again!  lots to post, however for now here’s a small (well it was going to be a small taste) taste of the gorgeous wedding Janet & I of LE Photography photographed a few weeks ago..

I love weddings that are unique, you know the feeling as a guest, your see your family and/or friends getting married, declaring their love and it being about THEM –  Every detail is unique to THEM.  Well this wedding takes the cake.   Firstly, the wedding was held in Timbarra, a tiny “town” pretty much in the middle on NOWHERE, with 2 permanent households.  Bring on a wedding, and the populartion soared to over 150!

Brooke & Minas met in this tiny natural haven, and therefore that’s where they got married.  Everything was just perfect!!  Enjoy the visual feast!
