Montsalvat Wedding Photography | Amy & Dan

Get ready for an epic post! As I said in their engagement photography post, “Amy and Dan are one of those couples who just ooze romance, love and fun”, and well, their wedding could almost be said to be themed around such!  What an amazing day… Honestly this is one of those weddings where I’m lost for words to describe it, so I’ll simply let the images do the talking!  Congratulations Amy & Dan, certainly a wedding to remember! xx

Amy & Dan | St Andrews Market Engagement Photography

When Amy and Dan arrived to discuss their wedding photography and I saw her floral Doc Martins, I knew we’d get along.  I had the same beloved Doc’s in a different colour.  When they left (after chatting for two hours) I said to Alex, “If they don’t hire us to shoot their wedding, I hope they invite us!”  Amy and Dan are one of those couples who just ooze romance, love and fun.  Whilst we chatted at our meeting they mentioned their favorite place to go on the weekends was the St Andrews Market and describing it I exclaimed what an awesome place for their pre-wedding shoot that would be.  So there we went!  They brought along Dan’s other ‘baby’ – his awesome vintage car.  The sun was shining, it was  stunning Spring day and all round it was a fun morning full of laughs.  Cannot wait for their wedding this coming November, I can tell it’s going to be something pretty epic:)

Wedding Feature | Peter Yacono Productions

It’s Spring!  Which means ‘Wedding Season” is in full swing, as is the planning for upcoming weddings.  Many of our Brides & Grooms ask for recommendations for vendors to use on their wedding day.  Be it Hair & Make-up, Florists, Video Production, Invitations..  With this in mind, we would like to start a feature of some of our favorite wedding businesses dedicated to making your big day, ONE TO REMEMBER!

For our first feature, I’m really excited to share Peter Yacono Productions.  You may remember Kate & Tom’s amazing wedding featured on our blog last year.

Peter is a DJ, but he doesn’t just play music at your reception. He creates unique and highly personalised wedding experiences. I have found this to be very different to the industry norm.  MANY weddings tend to hire a DJ and then have a very typical playlist to cover all bases to please their guests.  The same music.. and the same generic way of doing formalities.

He sees himself as a ‘Wedding Producer’, and helps you piece together the finer details to produce your most perfect and memorable wedding reception.  Seeking to make the event highly unique and personal to his clients.

“I truly believe in quality rather than quantity; putting the emphasis into creating one-of-a-kind events. Together we brainstorm to produce unique and creative ideas that are specifically tailored for your reception. Through these preparation meetings, your notion of a dream wedding builds to become a reality” Peter Yacono

Woodend Wedding Photography | Kate & Tom

I have wanting to share this post since before I’d even photographed this wedding!  I have known Kate since before she was born, and growing up she used to call me her “big sis”.  I remember watching ‘The Neverending Story’ as children hugging pillows for when the wolf scared us.  We did ballet together, (and I was very jealous, although proud, when she was one of the leads in ‘The Princess who wanted to play with the Stars”) and I even kept my barbie’s so she could play with them even though I had well and truly gotten over them.

Then Kate met Tom.  And Tom proposed.  Kate is a Doctor of Animal Science and has a small “farm” on her parents property.  Having organised a romantic dinner for the big question, it was changed when Kate’s horse wouldn’t get in the float and basically Kate cracked it.  So plan B was put in motion, he lit a fire and got some red wine and proposed with all Kate’s animals at witnesses.  And then they asked me to photograph their wedding!  Because of this emotional connection with the Bride, I asked the amazing Katie Kolenberg of Heartstory Photography in Canberra if she would help me on the day.  (In honesty, I was a little worried I would cry my way through the ceremony!)  Not only Katie, but I had Simon Pollock on my team as well who photographed Tom’s preparations back in Melbourne, whilst Katie and I started the day in Woodend.  (I learnt a lot about my dear friend Katie that day – Photographers, if your working with Katie I would suggest you don’t put her in a paddock with sheep.  She is slightly afraid of them..)

Kate and Tom’s day was just beautiful, from start to finish it was a photographers DREAM.  The amazing setting of her parents property in Woodend for Kate’s preparations, the beautiful Church, the horse drawn carriage back to the property for afternoon tea, concluding with the amazing elegant reception at the RACV Club back in Melbourne.  Kate & Tom stole the show of course the whole day, but their bridal dance was truly something to remember!

Congratulations Kate & Tom, and thanks for allowing me to be part of your amazing day xx

in a little town called Timbarra… Destination Wedding Photography

EKKK I’m behind on blogging again!  lots to post, however for now here’s a small (well it was going to be a small taste) taste of the gorgeous wedding Janet & I of LE Photography photographed a few weeks ago..

I love weddings that are unique, you know the feeling as a guest, your see your family and/or friends getting married, declaring their love and it being about THEM –  Every detail is unique to THEM.  Well this wedding takes the cake.   Firstly, the wedding was held in Timbarra, a tiny “town” pretty much in the middle on NOWHERE, with 2 permanent households.  Bring on a wedding, and the populartion soared to over 150!

Brooke & Minas met in this tiny natural haven, and therefore that’s where they got married.  Everything was just perfect!!  Enjoy the visual feast!
