New Zealand, Day 2 & 3 – Auckland

Day 2 saw us drive down the long way to Auckland, stopping off to look at some gorgeous scenery.

Because our trip was so short we could only spend limited time with friends, but couldn’t go to Auckland without stopping off to see these two gorgeous ladies!  Ang, I cannot believe how much she has grown!! xx

Now when I spoke last time of volcanoes, I wasn’t joking.  New Zealand is FULL of them.  In fact the North Island is practically a volcano in itself.  When I was in primary school we studied volcanoes, and I had this fantasy of HUGE mountains that explode and hot boiling lava comes out the top, and they were only in exotic places I’d never see.  Well!  Everything about them fascinates me.  And I just don’t really understand how New Zealander’s don’t freak out about them.  They have built cities around them, ON them.  And no some of them are not extinct.  Some of them are very much still erupting.  This one I believe is extinct, One Tree Hill.  When I first went to NZ we went to the summit and looked around.  This time I only passed by the base.  By the way, there was once a big tree, which got vandalised and had to be chopped down as it was dying.  So now there is only the monument left.

Yes a brick wall.  I think it’s pretty!!  It looks very old:)

The next day was the reason we came to New Zealand.  For Jaime & Katia’s wedding.

I was NOT the wedding photographer, I was a guest.  It was one of the first weddings in a long time where I was a guest!  But of course could not resist a few photographs!

I hung out on the day of the wedding with the boys getting ready.  You know what that means, I got to iron shirts!  But relaxing and resisting the urge to pick up a camera every five seconds was hard.  It’s not easy being around something you do a lot, and not actually “working”.  I tried very very very hard not to get in the way of the Photographers hired for the gig, Momentz Photography.  Their work is amazing you have to visit their blog!

Cigars continued on the way to the church!Yet another funny NZ sign…. at first I was a little taken back by it, but by the time I’d seen a few, they made me laugh…

Me & the gorgeous Sam xx

Part three coming soon!  But now be sure to see Aaron & Sarah of Momentz photography’s blog for their amazing capture of Jamie & Kate’s wedding HERE

Studio News – January 5th 2011

Does anyone else keep writing or typing 2001!?  This 2011 business has got me very confused!

Small bit of studio news, I will be out of the office as of today until the 11th January.  During this time, I will un-contactable by phone or voicemail.  I will however be able to receive text messages and email.

If your baby has been born during this time and you’d like to organise your session, please either text message me on 0423 323 185, or email info[at]iriscreationsphotography.com.  Emails will be checked daily!

I will not be accessing voicemail until my return on the 11th January!  Thankyou, and I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

And because I cannot post without an image… here’s some pretty flowers.  Just shows that somethings the simplest of gestures mean more.  A hand-picked posy. xx

Glow – Melbourne Pregnancy Photography

As many of my blog readers know, I’ve been back and forward to Brisbane a few times in the last couple of months.  This lovely couple I met up with during a 4 day return to Melbourne!  We had a great time joking around and all of a sudden this cute little ray of light shown into the studio.  Well I love sun-flare, and it’s not common to interrupt a photography session.  So I had to capture it!  There was one spot, where I could, and would you believe this is the shape it created?!  Talk about appropriate!

I hope you enjoy the preview, I can’t wait to see you again and meet your baby!!

Miss R, 15 days – Baby Photography Melbourne

Yes, little itty bitty baby Ruby:)  This time, at 15 days old.  She is just such a doll I can’t help but share more of her!

It’s been a lot of fun taking photos of her every two weeks, and yes there are more to come:)

Had a wonderful, inspiring weekend attending a workshop with US photographer Kelley Ryden this weekend.  Talk about cuteness overload, we photographed the most adorable newborns, and even a challenge with 3 weeks older!  There will be lots of images coming soon from the weekend.  My dear friend Amanda Keeys (who took the beautiful image of me with my son Ashton above) came to stay for the weekend with her 10 week old daughter Zoe and husband Matt.  My regular blog readers may remember miss Zoe from my post here.  I tell you it’s hard to not want another baby after a weekend like that (no that does not mean any new additions coming soon!!)

Well, onto some images of Miss Ruby:)

Miss Z, 38 hours – Newborn Photography, err.. Sydney!

Well I am back from my trip to Sydney, it was a LONG week and I had an absolute blast!  But will get into the details later, but wanted to share some images of a teeny tiny only 38 hours old Zoe.  My close friend Amanda Keeys conveniently had her baby (number 5!!) while I was there and I think I might have been the first to photograph her with a camera not a phone… how lucky am I!?!?

so.. what this space, well actually, perhaps watch her mummy’s space, cause this little girl is going to be well photographed! (and hopefully by me again one day soon!)

Congrats guys, she is just GORGEOUS!  and it was great to see you all while I was there! xxx

On a quick note, I am away from the office for the next week, however will have limited access to voicemail and email.

I will be in touch as SOON as I possibly can whilst away, and will be back in the office Tuesday 30th June.

Miss G – 6 Months

Ok this little girl is seriously the most gorgeous thing ever.  I’m a wee bit biased – she’s actually my son’s ‘girlfriend’!  Haha..

The two of them have lots of fun together, and squeel with delight at the sight of each other, it’s just so cute.

Sorry for the long delay in me showing you these Mum, but I hope you enjoy! xx
