{Every day of Summer, I photograph my two boys, one photo every day}
This wee little man was actually 4 weeks early. He decided that Christmas 2010 was not to be missed! While the clouds changed from thin to heavy, this little guy slept on. He was so peaceful. Poor Mum & Dad have to actually wake him to feed.. I wish I knew what he was dreaming to be so sleepy, and when he gave a little smile, I know they must be amazing dreams!
Stay tuned for Part II!

The official PROJECT image for December 24th. Full story (with a lot of images!) previous entry on the blog![]()

What is the festive season without a few personal posts on the blog? Well watch out they are about to bombard the Iris Creations Photography blog!
About a week before Christmas, Eman & I made a large batch of “Reindeer food” to give to all his kinder class-mates as little presents, keeping a few for us to use as well. (Secret ingredient is glitter so the moon shines down to light the way for the Reindeer you see – must also add here that I borrowed this gorgeous idea from someone else!)

Christmas Eve we spend with our cool Uncle Richie, and awesome Aunty Megs & even cooler Grandma, and of course, since this year we were at their house, they just had to help us spread out the Reindeer Dust. (Excuse the baby child in just a nappy, it’s either that, or a spiderman suit at the moment…!)

After all the excitement of feeding the Reindeer, we had to make sure Santa was well catered for, and therefore left some gingerbread Christmas trees we had made for the special day!

(And a weak mug of bourbon and cola… in case he’s thirsty!) And now off to bed to sleep like good boys, as Santa knows when you’ve been sleeping… and he KNOWS when your awake giggling with your brother and having pillow & doona fights….
A few days before Christmas, we were busy with festive activities and so I decided to try a little Christmassy set-up with Emerson. We live in a country where it’s not cold for summer, it’s [usually] hot, although most of the imagery associated with Christmas involves snow. SO. I decided to create some. (Thanks to a can!!)
It was pretty amusing as my boys have never actually seen snow in ‘real life’, however something we hope to change next year.
So below is the official image in thePROJECT’s series, and a few ‘outtakes’ as they are just too cute!

Chilling out on the couch. Getting ready for a BIG weekend!

Finally, we had the chance to take the boys to meet Santa. I know many parents will know that with young ones, this can be a mission! Firstly, it was 6pm, but the boys were very excited. They even changed into their Christmas t-shirts, and walked up to Santa and proudly showed off their new light sabers (which Ash even hugs while he sleeps) and then sat on his knee, and SMILED for the camera. Mission accomplished!
I took along my camera, knowing the set-up at the shopping centre was gorgeous. There was Rudolph. I asked Eman to give him a kiss on the nose. One frame, and a perfectly cute image!

We love star wars. Today the boys got a christmas present early from our gorgeous neighbours… (AKA Ash’s girlfriend). And Light Saber’s are the only “weapons” allowed in our house. It seems these days no matter what hero’s our children like, there is some form of violence. We cannot hide from it. It’s dragon fighting, martial art panda’s, super-hero families. But I guess the reason that Star Wars weapons are ok in my eyes, there are not that many “jedi knights’ out there, at least, that we know of![]()
I’m sure my 2 have a good chance… here we have Luke Skywalker, and Darth Vader.

Finally, someone was still!
9 times out of 10, I get compliments on how gorgeous my “daughter” is. For some reason it’s really easy to look at his hair and assume that “he’s” a girl. The clothes and boyish shoes don’t give it away… So some people wonder why I don’t cut his hair so he’s more “boylike”. Well. Would you cut off these gorgeous curls!? Because I sure can’t!

When Ash was born, I did a small project of photographing him on an ‘Ashton’ guitar amp every month for the first year. I then planned to continue this every year on his birthday. Unfortunately, the day I did his 2nd birthday images, my old personal use only memory card corrupted. I lost everything from his first birthday. The amp was also being borrowed by someone so on the 18th December, I finally got a chance to do his 2-year-old image. Well we weren’t overly keen on being up there. So to help the process, we got a balloon that we had for a BBQ birthday we were holding that evening. It worked. This was an image that I took for THIS project, as it just shows perfectly the wonder children have with balloons. . .

Busy week. Friday saw the daycare family Christmas party! Found this little chair where both the boys sat down and I asked Eman to give Ash a kiss. Ash also kissed the camera!

Kinder graduation #2, from long day care which he attended once a week. They made these cute hats and he was very excited!

Trying to photograph the details of one’s gorgeous curls is not easy. Especially outside.

Kinder Graduation #1. Seabrook Kindergarten. While other children sang and danced the organised actions, Eman plays air guitar and at the end of each number, gives up the “rock on” sign. Yep, I think I have two rockstars on my hands![]()
