Mr K, 13 days new – Melbourne Newborn Photographer

This little guy was a total cutie!  A tiny bit stubborn, he was a big fan of sleeping with his hands by his cheek, and wasn’t overly impressed with the idea of of anything else, however with a little sweet talking, he happily obliged:) However very peaceful and I barely heard a peep out of him.  Obviously a big fan of his big brother, was very happy to be nursed by him!

Was lovely to meet you Mum & Dad, I hope you enjoy the preview, your gallery is moments away!

October Mini-Sessions – Melbourne Baby Photography

We are very excited to announce that we are holding studio mini-sessions on the weekend of the 16th & 17th of October, at our Point Cook Studio.  These sessions ARE limited (only 12 available)

Perfect for updated images of your baby & children growing, or for family & friends to sample the custom art photography experience with Iris Creations Photography.

To celebrate, we have a competition running on our Facebook Page!  By tagging yourself in the image (click HERE) you go into the running to receive $200 credit towards your mini-session!

To book simply email us on info@iriscreationsphotography.com or call 0423 323 185 for more information.  These sessions will book quickly!

FAQ:

So what are mini-sessions?

Mini-sessions are a shorter photography sitting, of which 15-20 images will be availble in your private gallery to choose from.  These sessions are designed for new clients, wishing to try out custom art photography, or previous clients, who would love updated photos of their baby, children & family.

How much are the sessions?

$75, which is half our normal studio sitting/creation fee.   Payment is required to secure your booking.  Bookings are non-refunable, however may be transferred*

What’s included?

Approx 45 minute sitting (depending on weather, we may even venture outdoors for some images!), from this 15-20 images will be available in your private online gallery.  A matted 5×7″ print is also included.

Why can’t Newborn or Maternity sessions be included?

Due to the dedication we place on the process of newborn & maternity sessions, they cannot be performed in the allocated time.  However, if you have a newborn baby, or are pregnant and would like a fun family session with siblings etc, then the mini-session would be a great add-on to a tradition maternity/newborn booking.

How many people can be included into the session?

Traditionally, a family of 4 or 5.  If you have a larger family or would like to include Grandparents, we suggest you book a double session on the day, due to the time allocated for the sessions.

If I win the Facebook competition, what do I get?

If you have booked one of the mini-sessions, you will receive $200 towards your order.  This prize cannot be carried to other sessions at another time.  The prize is only available for booked sessions on the weekend of our mini-studio sessions.

*Please note:  Regular and Additional Terms & Conditions do apply.

Spring is in the air! – Melbourne Maternity Photography

(Although I wish the temperature would rise with the season, is it just me or does it still feel like winter!?)

ANYWAY!  After a teaser post a few days ago, here is the full post!

You will all be seeing a LOT more (if I get my way – hehe) of this gorgeous lady, my sister-in-law!  Yep, I’m becoming an Aunty again!  It’s been 18 years in between.  On the day my brother  & Megs annouced they were expecting, I had been joking about all the ideas I had for when they “finally have a baby, haha, hurry up you guys“.  Little did I know that I’d be soon about to put these ideas into action!

Now I’m sure everyone MIGHT be getting sick of the Canola Field, however I am NOT.  So what better way to photographically annouce the pregnancy, than a mini-shoot in a blossoming field.

Officially, Congrats M & R, I’m so excited for you!  You are going to make the best and coolest parents – Since you are already the best and coolest Aunt & Uncle!  I can’t wait to take more photos:Dxx

Mr. M’s Christening – Melbourne Baby Photography

Mr. M’s Mum called me to hold a portrait session on the day of his Christening, to commemorate a special day in his life.  I have to say, Mr M is one of the most calm, smiley and happy-go-lucky babies I’ve ever met.  In all the time I was there I didn’t see him do anything but smile and never heard a peep of protest from him!

Poor little guy was getting a tad tired when we were at photo time, however even if he was very ready for a nap, he kept smiling and then finally drifted off to sleep in his pram!

Mum, he’s an Angel!  I can’t wait to photograph him again!  I hope you enjoy the preview!

(I have to interupt your image viewing here.. I think M’s eyelashes take the prize for longest and thickest eyelashes, I have ever seen… They are divine!)

Lost in a field! – Melbourne Child Photographer

One day, Child Photographer Chrissy Torney and I decided to take our (at the time) rather ratty children to a field nearby.  It made them happy to play, and made us happy to have time taking photographs of our own children!  Believe it or not, it doesn’t happen all that often (unless you count the Iphone as a camera?)

You can see Chrissy’s images here, and it does include a rather amusing one of myself – One of my last days in the famous “moonboot”.

My Boys.  <3

No words, just beauty.

Mr C & Miss Z – Baby Photography Melbourne

What I love about my job, is that no two photography sessions are the same.  Because no two babies are the same.  Even when they shared the womb for 9 months.  They are so individual, even at such a young age.  These gorgeous babies were no different to that rule!  From only a few minutes into our time together, regardless that they weren’t identical, and of different sex, they already have such different personalities!  Mr Man here, was extrememly curious of his surroundings, and very cheeky!  Constantly looking around him, the camera was not of much interest to either of them, however the studio was ‘way cool’ to absorb.  Miss Lady, had one of the biggest smiles I’ve ever seen, but only for Mum & Dad, and boy does she love hearing mum sing!!

But one thing that was for sure, we captured so many different expressions and elements of their personalities, which above all else, is what we strive for in sessions.  A small part of a day in their short lives, and captured them, just as they are.

I hope you enjoy the preview Mum & Dad, so many more images to come!   And a big thank-you to the lovely Chrissy Torney for helping out during the session!

Mine – Melbourne Child Photographer

Believe it or not, I’m not brilliant at taking photos of my children.  Simply, they don’t like my camera.  Also has a lot to do with the age old excuse, a ‘builder’s house is never finished’ or a ‘plumbers tap will always drip’, and ‘a mechanics car always breaks down’.  Sure I’ve taken heaps of images of the kids, however where they are?  I have no idea.  My own images never go into the same process as my client’s work.  they are scattered amungst endless external hard-drives and DVD back-up for “when I have time”.

I have two images up on the walls.  One wasn’t taken by me, but my friend & assistant Bec.  And she had it printed and also hung it up.  The other is a canvas of Ash, when he was 5 days old.  Which many of my clients have seen on the wall.  But it’s part of the studio, not our “home”.

This is something that will be changed shortly, as I’m currently preparing albums, and finally, a canvas wall gallery.  And yes I’ll be posting images once it’s done.

Last week a fellow child photographer, Chrissy Torney, and I did a last minute dash to take some photos to test out a temporary location.  I decided to try and get photos of the boys to give to Daddy for his birthday.  While the photos of Daddy with the boys didn’t QUITE go to plan, it shows them, their personality, and is very them!

Happy Birthday G!

I’ll be posting some more images very soon of this awesome location!

Finn in the great outdoors – Brisbane Baby Photographer

As I’ve mentioned before, I almost (almost) didn’t take the camera to Brisbane.  And didn’t do many “photo shoots” with Finn.  The ideas I had didn’t involve a “moonboot”.

Well then my flight was delayed by 6 hours.  And it wasn’t raining.  And we did this:

And in case you missed it, Mr Finn loves his toes.  ;)  Miss you little man x

Mr C, 8 days new – Melbourne Newborn Baby Photography

This little guy came from quite a distance for his session, and was ever so sweet.  Giving little smiles here and there, was quite happy to be warm and sleeping!

I hope you enjoy the preview Mum & Dad, more to come in your full gallery very soon!

Miss G, 13 months – Melbourne Baby Photography

This is the fourth time I’ve met up with Miss G over the course of her 1st year for her baby photography, and she has always greeted me with very serious expressions.  She is a thinker, calculating everything around her!

Well we have reached a major milestone, and we are now walking!  (and currently walking better than I am!) So proud of herself that I got smiles, BIG smiles!

It was wonderful to see you all again, I hope you enjoy the preview Mum & Dad!
