On a personal note..
In the tiny photography world there is a fun game called blog tag. And I’ve been tagged by the lovely Fiona
So here we go:
1. Ten years ago… I was finishing High School with dreams of being a dancer, a photographer and somehow the wife of Bono (U2 – which is crazy since he’s been happily married for years!! Still I did marry a musician!)
2. 5 things on my to do list… Travel to Europe & the US (ok so travel the world), hold a gallery, write a book, update my website and send out thank-you cards for Ashton’s birth!
3. Snacks i enjoy… Chocolate, cheese and biscuits, a good glass of wine (is that a snack?!)
4. If i were a millionaire… I was just dreaming of this on Tuesday, unfortunately I’m not one. Anyway, I would set my family into a nice financial position to never worry, and hopefully have enough left over to tick of the big items on the to-do list! I wouldn’t “retire” from photography however…
5. Places i’ve lived… Melbourne, Brisbane
And now, I tag Janet, Amanda, Kris, Sheila & Dale. Be sure to check out their sites, they are brilliant photographers!
And because no post would be the same without an image, here’s a personal pic from my eldest at the zoo yesterday..

The mathematics of baby photography…
It’s very rare that I photograph babies between 4 weeks and 12 weeks. Photographically, newborns are considered under about 21 days old. Yes that’s not a long timeframe! I have ’stretched’ a “newborn” session (recently) to 4 weeks old and it was fantastic… but generally newborns are under 21 days – yes it’s all very technical – as they tend to sleep and curl up creating beautiful womb type images.
Generally after about 3 weeks, baby ache sets in, babies are more alert and not 100% content being awake. Then by around 12 weeks, personality is shining through and we are happier more of the time.
Well today changed all my theory. I photographed a 7.5 week old Ashton in the studio. And I’ve decided, that if the session is timed right, that in between newborn & 3 month “grey” time is PERFECT to photograph!

First Birthday Wishes
Another year long program has come to an end – ALREADY!
Still feels like only yesterday I met Charley’s mum as she patiently waiting for his arrival! Today was Charley’s first birthday, and I’m so happy I got to spend a small part of such a big day with you! Happy first birthday and here’s to many more!
Take a good look at his super cool t-shirt.. I’m going to have to track down a few of these for my boys!

Has it been a year already?
Ok time flies!! Feels like only yesterday I met Emmerson for her newborn photos, and suddenly she is a year old already!
And what a year it’s been, we’ve got some beautiful photos! I have also photographed her at 3, 6,& 9 months old, and she has become quite a cheeky little thing for the camera
and big brother also joined in this time. He defiantly knows how to “work” the camera! Hope you enjoy your preview mum & dad, your full gallery will be available very soon!

Baby A
Ok, I’m getting rather carried away with previews! I cannot decide what to show families first. Baby A lives just over the road, so I couldn’t wait for him to born to photograph. He was one of the easiest newborns I’ve ever photographed. He was very content, even in his birthday suit, so who was I to try to get him to sleep. Instead we did shots awake. He even positioned himself, I swear I barely had to work!
So here’s a rather large preview mum & dad!

The Great Outdoors
When two photographers get together, it’s more common than not that the boundaries are pushed a little further than your usual photography session.
Such was the case when my son was only two weeks old. Janet & I took Ashton to a location not far from home.
Then Yesterday with Ashton now 6 weeks old, I met up with Dale and her 8 week old son. Beware the two child photographers making a small scene in the heart of Melbourne city! (and yes there was a crowd. You’d think we were making a movie or something! Or perhaps they thought we were very strange?!
*Please rest assured that no baby was cold or uncomfortable in the making of these images!*
